Drug Class and Mechanism: Zelnorm is an oral medication for the treatment of constipation and constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in women. In addition, zelnorm reduces the sensitivity of the intestinal pain-sensing nerves and can thereby reduce the perception of pain.
